Actim® PROM

Reports PROM reliably, even for samples containing blood.

Superior accuracy unaffected by blood

  • Vaginal bleeding complicates reliable diagnostics of Premature Rupture of Fetal Membranes (PROM)
  • Up to 20% of women with suspected PROM experience bleeding
  • Actim PROM is the only PROM test not affected by blood, giving accurate results for all expecting mothers

Why it works?

  • The monoclonal antibodies of Actim PROM specifically detect the amniotic isoforms of insulin-like growth factor protein (IGFBP-1)
  • The wide detection range of Actim PROM covers all clinically relevant concentrations of IGFBP-1 from the smallest membrane microruptures to larger volumes of amniotic fluid
  • The detection limit of Actim PROM excludes IGFBP-1 concentrations found in maternal blood, further increasing the specificity of the test for amniotic IGFBP-1

Actim PROM test reports PROM accurately, even for samples containing blood. The presence of blood does not affect the visual interpretation of the test at the 5-minute time-point.
